IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jacqueline
Kraus
August 29, 1933 – July 13, 2023
Jackie Kraus passed away on July 13, 2023 in Severna Park, MD. Jackie was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She earned her registered nurse degree at Shadyside Hospital and married Harven Kraus in 1953. After Harven's brief military service in New Mexico, they moved to Maryland and soon purchased their home in Severna Park where they lived for over 50 years.
Jackie and Harv raised two sons, Ron and Kip. Jackie excelled as a wife, homemaker and mom, and had other successful careers as a nurse and later as a saleswoman of beautiful clothing for Doncaster.
Jackie treasured her grandchildren above all else and they loved their Nana. She was a talented and adventurous cook. Jackie loved being active and enjoyed tennis, biking and exercise classes. She and Harv traveled widely, taking trips around the world and to many National Parks with dear friends. She loved her extended family, especially her sister-in-law and very best friend, Anna Mae. Jackie delighted in lavishing attention and delicious food on her beloved family. Family get-togethers to cheer on the Ravens or take a boat ride on the Severn, hot 4th of July picnics and Sunday mornings in church were all opportunities to display her impeccable style and fashion. She was a devoted member of Severna Park United Methodist Church.
Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harven. She is survived by sons Ron (Ellen) and Kip (Heather), grandchildren Noel (Maho), Ted (Sarah), Kevin, Peter and Olivia and great-granddaughters Charlotte and Nao.
A memorial service will be held at Severna Park United Methodist Church on July 21, 2023 at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, John & Cathy Belcher Campus, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122 and the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
