Jack Smith
Jack Smith, 82, of Severna Park, died of natural causes June 10 at home after a brief illness.
Mr. Smith was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Morgantown, W.Va., where he was reared. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of West Virginia.
He served in the Army Air Force during World War II and worked for the Department of the Interior until his retirement in 1981.
His interests included woodworking and he was a past member of the White Hurst Community Association and a member of the Annapolis Elks.
The widower of Joanne Smith, surviving are three daughters, Barbara Farro of Las Vegas, and Patty Smith and Margaret J. Smith Bahr, both of Pasadena; two sons, Jim Smith of Tampa, Fla. and Jack Smith of Westminster, Md.; one sister, Ginny DeLude of Annapolis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, where funeral services will be held at noon on Tuesday. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
