Jack Anthony Santoriello, 82, of Annapolis, died suddenly in his home on November 4, 2011.
He was born on June 25, 1929 in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Westinghouse High School before entering the United States Army where he was involved with the Manhattan Project.
After forty years, he retired from the United States Postal Service in Pittsburgh, PA, as an Executive.
Since 2000, he has been a resident of Annapolis, MD and until the time of his death continued to enjoy gardening, golfing, and hunting. There was no household project too large or small that he did not master and as the patriarch of his family, freely lent his talents to everyone. An extremely well read person, Jack could enhance conversations including topics of politics, sports, and economics. Quite literally, a proverbial "Jack" of all trades—he was loving, loyal, and fought for what he believed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances A. Santoriello.
He is survived, loved, and held in memory by brother Blase Santoriello, deceased; sister Mary Buxton, deceased; sister Phyllis Maida of North Carolina; Brother Neil Santoriello of North Carolina; Brother Sam Santoriello of Pittsburgh, PA. His children, Dr. Ronald Santoriello and wife Roberta of Annapolis; Jacqueline Thorne and husband Dr. Charles Thorne of Annapolis; and Drew Santoriello and wife Dr. Jennifer Erich of Stewartstown, PA. His grandchildren, Sarah Bigelow and husband Seth, Ben Santoriello, Joel Thorne and his wife Ellen, Andrea Phillips and husband Michael, Erin Thorne, Ronald Santoriello Jr., Dylan Santoriello, Emily Santoriello, Kyle Santoriello, and Victoria Santoriello. His great-grandchildren, Jack and Annabelle Bigelow.
Friends may visit on Tuesday November 8, 2011 from 2-4:00 & 6-8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday November 9, 2011 at 10:00am in the St. John Neumann Catholic Church, Annapolis, MD. Interment in Hillcrest Cemetery.
