Iris Gertrude Whitt, 86, of Arnold, died of cancer Jan. 14 in her home after a long illness.
Mrs. Whitt was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Grundy, Va., where she was raised. She moved to Baltimore after her marriage, and then to Arnold in the late 1950s.
An avid reader and a homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ned Whitt, in 1993.
Survivors include one son, Phillip B. Whitt of Millersville; two daughters, Janella Hendricks of Arnold and Linda Ward of Woodfield, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and interment are private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
