Irene Zido, of Arnold, died March 15 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Mrs. Zido was born in Donora, Pa., where she graduated from high school and worked as a beautician. On July 20, 1954, she married J. Edward Zido, and they lived in western Pennsylvania until moving to Arnold in 1972.

She was an active member of the Ulmstead Estates community in Arnold and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Severna Park. She enjoyed playing bridge and bowled in ladies and mixed leagues.

In addition to her husband of 50 years, she is survived by one son, Gregg Zido of Severna Park; two daughters, Linda Suskie of Annapolis and Barbara Matz of Hilton Head, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Cypress Creek Road and Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
