Ingrid Yee-Ying Wang, 64, of Crofton passed away on June 16, 2019 while surrounded by her loving family. She was born to General Tien-Pi and Bih-Hui Wang in 1954 in the Air Force Hospital in Pingtung, Taiwan. She was raised by her Second Aunt and lived with her parents and siblings over summer and winter vacations. She lived in California for more than 20 years before moving to Maryland in 1996, she worked at Potomac UMC as a program coordinator. After she graduation from Wesley Theological Seminary, she was ordained by UMC to become a pastor for nearly ten years.
Ingrid worked as a pastor for United Methodist Church in Maryland for nearly ten years. Ingrid lived with lung cancer after being diagnosed in 2016. Throughout the period of treatment and therapy she maintained her health for two years and still continued to visit friends and relatives, doing what she loved doing, "traveling".
She visited the Great wall, climbed the Yellow Mountain, and went to Taiwan, Skied Whistler mountain in Canada, and watched several matches at the French Open in Europe. Ingrid was always well-groomed and enjoyed singing and sports: swimming, skiing, and jogging. She was a talented cook as well.
She is survived by her loving and attentive husband of three years, Calvin Martin. They shared their love of bicycling, tennis, and cooking. She is also survived by her mother, two sons, Ben and Jeff; her daughter-in-law Angie; her grandchildren, Emily and Carter; as well as five elder sisters, a younger brother and numerous other friends and family.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Ingrid's life for a memorial service on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11:00am at Pasadena United Methodist Church, 61 N. Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, MD, 21122.
A private inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
