Ima Riegel, 85, of Severna Park died of natural causes at Heart Homes in Linthicum, MD on November 27, 2008.
Mrs. Riegel was born Ima Ingram on February 9, 1924 in Roanoke, VA, where she was also raised. She graduated from Salem High School in Salem, VA and attended Roanoke College in Roanoke, VA. Shortly after, she became a model in New York City. She met and later married her husband Ronald E. Riegel in 1947. Mrs. Riegel moved extensively due to her husband's career-living in Indiana, Richmond, VA, Roanoke, VA, Chicago, IL, Milwaukee, WI and finally to Severna Park in late 1965.
In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as an office manager in a Real Estate Appraisal Company in Glen Burnie, MD and Severna Park, MD.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald E. Riegel of Severna Park, MD; son, David L. Riegel, Severna Park, MD; two sisters Reba Bowles of Roanoke, VA and Coy Riegel of Indiana; four brothers, Wendel Ingram of Salem, VA, Leon Ingram of Lynchburg, VA, Ronnie Ingram of Roanoke, VA, and Vernon Ingram of Atlanta, GA; and two grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 01, 2008 from 2-4 pm , with a funeral service to follow at 4:00 pm, at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. Interment will be private.
