Hubert "Hub" E. Sasse, 83 of Severn, MD and Fort Myers, FL passed away on May 30, 2016 at home. He leaves the love of his life and wife of almost 62 years, Barbara Ann Sasse (Russell). He also leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Michael J. Sasse and Angela Kae Sasse (Bogert) of Severna Park, MD, a brother, Donald Sasse of North Carolina, and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Ann Sasse, who passed away in 2007, and three sisters, Elizabeth, Eileen, and Marilyn.

Hubert was born and grew up in Holden, Massachusetts. He graduated from Holden High School in 1951 where he met and married his high school sweetheart. They shared a life together, building a home on North Main Street in Jefferson and raising two children.

Hub was extremely lucky to receive a heart transplant in 1993 and defied the odds to enjoy another 23 years of full life. He was an avid Red Sox fan, a very good horseshoe player, and enjoyed following all Boston/New England sports teams.

Memorial donations may be made to: Brigham & Women's Hospital or the American Heart Association.

Family and friends may visit on June 3, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A memorial service is planned to take place during the visitation. Interment is planned for a later date in Massachusetts at Worcester Memorial Park in Paxton.
