Howard William Carrick Jr., 61, of Stevensville, died of cancer Nov. 6 at Stella Maris Hospice in Towson after a six- month illness.
Mr. Carrick worked at the National Security Agency as a computer analyst for 42 years before retiring in 1998.
Born in Baltimore on Dec. 24, 1942, he graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961 and received an associate of arts degree from Anne Arundel Community College.
He was in the Army Reserve. An avid boater, he also enjoyed playing golf and spending time with children.
Surviving are his mother, Mary Marzucco Carrick of Catonsville; his sister, Susan Wagner of Baltimore County; and a granddaughter.
Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow at Our Lady of the Angels Chapel at Charlestown Retirement Community, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, 6020 Ritchie Highway, Brooklyn Park.
