Herman H. Floyd Jr., 88 of Arnold, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 21, 2018 with family by his side.
Born Feb. 17, 1930 in High Point, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Herman and May Floyd. His wife Janice preceded him in death. Herman is survived by his sons, Jim and wife Shawn of Port St. Joe Fl., Jack and wife Maka of Arnold, Md. Jay and his wife Donna of Brunswick, Ga. and grandchildren Anna, Forrest, Robert, Jake, step grandchildren Elizabeth and Jeremy, and his cat Lucky Boy.
Herman was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force (Korea) and served in the West Virginia Air National Guard as a Captain in the Military Police. Herman was in sales for many years and upon obtaining his MBA he became an Associate Professor at Catonsville Community College teaching Business Administration & Marketing. He was a favorite among his students. Herman is a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, a Civil War history buff, a magnificent sharpshooter (Captain of the U. of Md. Rifle Team 1953), an avid & award winning amateur photographer, boater, and wonderful husband, father & grandfather.
