Herbert Samuel Slack, 93, died on November 12, 2018 at his home in Severna Park, MD. He was born on November 23, 1924 in Newark, DE to Catherine and Samuel Slack.

Herbert graduated from Newark High School in 1942 and was inducted into the Army Air Corp in 1943. He served for 37 months stateside in the Aleutian Islands and was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Staff Sergeant. He married Dorothy Ludwig in November 1946, and graduated from University of Delaware in 1949 with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with honors. He was employed by Westinghouse for 34 years from 1949 to 1983. In his retirement he enjoyed travel, boating, fishing, crabbing, woodwork, bridge and family. He is survived by two daughters Joanne Hanner of Atlanta, GA and Patti Buckingham of Columbia MD; two son in laws Dan Hanner and Jim Buckingham; three grandchildren Jodi Whalen, Lindsay O'Keefe and Todd Hanner, and a great grandchild Andrew James O'Keefe.

A memorial ceremony will be held on Friday, November 23rd, 2018 at 2pm in Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy. Interment will be private
