Henry C. Gordon, 80, a resident of Severna Park, died on April 1, 2012 at FutureCare Chesapeake in Arnold.
He was born on March 21, 1932 in Cleveland, Ohio, where he was raised. Henry served in the U.S. Marines from 1954-1956. He graduated from the Missouri School of Journalism in 1955, retired from IBM in 1992, and he moved to Severna Park in 1995.
Henry enjoyed doing yard work, spending time with his family and friends, taking care of his home, and getting up at a civilized hour.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Maureen Gordon of Severna Park; son, Mark Gordon of Takoma Park, MD; brothers-in-law, Michael W. Ambrose (Sharon) of Washington, D.C. and Kelly P. Ambrose of Milwaukee, WI; and sister-in-law, Patricia Wallace of Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11:00 am at Saint Bernadette Roman Catholic Church, 801 Stevenson Road, Severn, MD 21144. Interment will be private.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy, Annapolis, MD 21401.
