Helma Anne Margret Griffith, 91, resident of Pasadena, MD, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023. She was born on October 16, 1931 in Germany to Gerhard and Else Wanke. Helma was raised in Hamburg and Kiel, Germany. She attended school and graduated from high school in Germany before moving to the United Stated in the late 50's.

Helma would go on to marry the love of her life, Eugene, on January 16, 1961. They would have four children together and would become Helma's greatest joy in life to raise them together. Prior to living in Pasadena, MD the family lived in Washington, DC and Annapolis, MD. Helma loved the outdoors and nature. She especially enjoyed being on the water and hiking in the mountains. Helma also enjoyed cooking, sewing, and travelling.

Helma is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Eugene Griffith of Pasadena, MD; four children, Janice Khyati (Hakim Raqi), of Pasadena, MD, Andrew Griffith (Debbie), of Baltimore, MD, Richard Griffith, of Annapolis, MD, and Norbert Griffith, of Arnold, MD; two siblings, Karin and Norbert Wanke, both of Germany; one grandchild, Ashley Johnson (Jason); and five great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 at 2pm in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 1911 Forest Drive, Annapolis, MD 21401.
