March 1, 1922 – February 7, 2006
Helen Agnes Wisniewski, 83, of Stevensville, died of pulmonary arterial hypertension Feb. 7 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Baltimore on March 1, 1922, and reared in Locust Point, Mrs. Wisniewski formerly lived in Stonehaven in Pasadena and attended Holy Rosary Polish Catholic Church. She sang on a Baltimore City Polish radio station and in 1941 was named Miss Fort McHenry.
In May 1945 she married John Joseph Wisniewski Sr. who died Oct. 29, 1965.
She was a former member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Pasadena, St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pylesville and St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church. She enjoyed doing dishes and laundry, her family said.
She was devoted to her children, John Joseph Wisniewski Jr. and Patricia A. Hornberger, both of Stevensville; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Louise Reiersen of Finksburg.
She was the sister of the late Frances Perkowski, Wanda Zmijewski, Theresa Johnson, Lillian Nestruck, Walter Wujek and Stanislaus "Jimmy" Wujek.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow and Friday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew by the Bay Catholic Church, 701 College Parkway, near Cape St. Claire. Burial will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, German Hill Road, Baltimore.
