Helen Ward Tilghman, age 90, of Severna Park, MD passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Brightview of Severna Park.

Born and raised in Crisfield, Maryland, Helen had lived in Severna Park since 1965. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Anne Arundel County Public School System at Severna Park Middle School for more than 19 years. She was a member of Severna Park United Methodist Church and Ladies of the Elks Severna Park Lodge. She enjoyed music, dancing, working in her yard, but most of all caring for and spoiling her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her warmth, charm and kind heart touched everyone who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Henry Tilghman, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen McClure Williams (Mike) of Severna Park, Maryland; son, William Thomas Tilghman (Barbara) of Sterling, Virginia; daughter, Robin Hagan (Emmanuel) of Glen Burnie, Maryland; ten grandchildren and her niece Helen Ward of Brooksville, FL.

Family and friends may visit on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 9:00am – 12:00pm at Barranco and Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home. A Service of Remembrance will follow beginning at 12pm.

Interment ceremony will be held in the Chapel Mausoleum at Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD immediately following the service.

A reception will be held at Severna Park Methodist Church from 2:30pm to 4:30pm.
