Helen M. Stephens, 62, of Grasonville, died of cancer March 29 at her home after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Stephens was born Sept. 25, 1942, and reared in Brooklyn, N.Y., and was married in October 1965 to Dennis B. Stephens. They moved to Long Island, N.Y., and came to Arnold in 1973 where they resided for more than 17 years. In 1990 the couple moved to Palm Harbor, Fla., and then in 2003 to Grasonville.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mrs. Stephen held several positions in banking, airline industries and government agencies. She retired as an analyst from the Florida Department of Medicaid.
She was a member of Safe Harbor Presbyterian Church in Stevensville. She was involved in Girl and Boy Scouts of America programs and enjoyed ceramics and crafts.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Jennifer A. Stephens of Alexandria, Va.; her son, Brian R. Stephens of Bowie; her brother, Robert A. Bredley of Richmondville, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
