Helen Saia
Helen W. Saia, 84, of Arnold, died of complications from a stroke July 1 at FutureCare-Chesapeake in Arnold after a brief illness.
Mrs. Saia was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Arnold. She was retired from the Nationwide Insurance Co., where she had worked for 33 years.
She was a member of the Moose, the Stoney Creek Seniors and AARP. She enjoyed taking craft and ceramics classes at the Arnold Senior Center, Her hobbies were bird watching, gardening and flower arranging.
The widow of Joseph S. Saia, she is survived by one daughter, Dorothy A. Saia Thomas of Arnold; two grandchildren; one step-grandson; one great-grandchild; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. John the Evangelist Church in Severna Park. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
