Helen A. McCormick (nee McCollum), 92, a resident of Severna Park, died on March 26, 2013 of natural causes at Sunrise of Severna Park.
She was born on September 15, 1920 in New Castle, PA, where she was raised. She lived in Severna Park since 2006.
Helen was a homemaker and a member of Ft. Meade Officer's Wives Club. She enjoyed bowling and was on the Severna Park Lanes Bowling League. She also enjoyed reading.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col Thomas McCormick, USAF Ret., who died in 2007; sister, Joanne Gill; and parents, Charles McCollum and Madeline Rice McCollum.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Johnson of Severna Park, two grandchildren, Patricia Woods of Jacksonville, FL and David Johnson of Sacramento, CA; five great grandchildren, Danielle, Adam, Avery, Devon, and Josephine; and one sister, Janet Gilmore of Leesburg, FL.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, March 30, 2013 from 2-4 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Hwy, Annapolis, MD 21401.
