Helen Anna Mankiewicz, 91, of Severna Park, died of congestive heart failure Jan. 29 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mrs. Mankiewicz was born March 4, 1916, in Baltimore, and lived in Manhattan Beach as a summer resident before settling there in 1966.
She retired from Baltimore City Schools as head custodian after over 20 years.
She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary in Severna Park and the American Legion Lady's Auxiliary Post 175.
She loved cooking and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Mankiewicz; and one son, Robert Mankiewicz.
Survivors include one son, Richard Mankiewicz of Severna Park; one daughter, Dorothy Murray of Essex; one sister, Mary Morrison of Perry Hall; and four grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway.
A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway S.E. in Severna Park. Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Annapolis.
