Helen Carolyn Lipscomb (Always known as Carolyn to her family and friends) of Rock Hall MD died on February 22, 2022 at Sunrise of Severna Park in Severna Park, MD, she was 74 years old.

She was born in Rock Hall, MD on October 23, 1947 to Edgar and Helen (Gigi) Lipscomb. She graduated from Rock Hall high school and Towson State Teachers College (now Towson University) for both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees.

She was a beloved elementary teacher in Harford County, and she was a former MD State teacher of the year candidate (officially recognized in 1997). She loved her students and teaching. Carolyn was inducted into the Harford County Public Schools Hall of Fame in 2002.

She was instrumental in getting the outdoor education program started and running at Harford Glen Outdoor Education Center, for the 5 ^th grade residential outdoor education program.

The last eight years of her teaching career she was the Director of the Harford Glen Outdoor Education Center and it was the best years of her life. She was recognized for her contributions to the Education Center with a building in her name when she retired.

Her other passion and love was Camp Arrowhead of Lewes DE, where she worked beginning in 1966 throughout the 90s. She met many of her closest friends through Camp Arrowhead. Words cannot express how much the camp meant to her and her love of camp, and camp friends sustained her through the end of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Lewis and beloved Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Fonie. She is survived by very close and loving friends Doreen Raub and Nancy Campbell, cousins Joy Jannotti, Mimi Shea, and Laurie Walter. Graveside service and interment will be at 11am on April 9 ^th at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, 6065 Rock Hall Rd., Rock Hall, MD 21661.

The Harford Glen Environmental Education Center , is an integral part of the Harford County Public School System, coordinates a comprehensive, sequential, and participatory program of environmental education.  By focusing on a curriculum that promotes awareness, and understanding of the local and global environment, the Harford Glen staff seeks to produce a responsibility ethic of stewardship and sustainability in the total school community.
