Helen Lauer (Beaudette), 80, a resident of Severna Park, MD died peacefully at home on November 4, 2009, surrounded by her family.
She was born and raised in Baltimore, MD and attended St. Joseph's, Emmittsburg and Seton High School. Helen and Ed raised their five daughters in Baltimore, MD, prior to moving to Anne Arundel County.
They owned and operated Lauer's Supermarkets along with their family, since January 1974.
She enjoyed sewing and spending time with her grandchildren, was an active community member, dedicated parishioner and volunteer of Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church in Pasadena, MD.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Millsap of Pasadena, MD.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Edward Lauer of Severna Park, MD; a sister, Marie Whipps of Grand Blanc, MI; four daughters, Elizabeth Gilley of Herndon, VA, Babette Poyer of Millersville, MD, Bernadette Snoops of Millersville, MD, and Loretta Lauer of North Port, FL. She is also survived by ten grandchildren.
Family and friends may visit on Saturday, November 7, 2009 from 7-9 pm and on Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Gov. Ritchie Hwy, in Severna Park, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Chesapeake Church, 8325 Ventnor Road, in Pasadena, MD 21122. Private interment will be in Loudon Park Cemetery in Baltimore, MD.
