Helen Krolus; devoted wife of Harry Krolus for 69 years, who passed away on February 13, 2013, was called to her eternal home on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2015. Helen had worked as a crossing guard for several years and then as a safety instructor for Baltimore City's "Safety City", where she taught pedestrian and bicycle safety to elementary school children. Upon her retirement, a street in Druid Hill Park was named in her honor, "Helen Krolus Way."

Helen always had a great love for children. Not only was this evident in her career serving the children of Baltimore City, but could be most clearly seen in her service to the children's ministry of St. Thomas Lutheran Church where she served as teacher and Superintendent for more than 50 years.

One of Helen's greatest loves was her family. As her family grew through children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her love was never divided, but multiplied. Everyone was special to Ma, and Ma was special to everyone.
Helen's greatest love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Because she knew his redeeming love, she too had a capacity to love unconditionally. Because she knew the victory of the cross and glory of the resurrection she had no fear of death and often would say that she was ready whenever the Lord would call.
Helen's race is over. She has now claimed the prize of her faith, eternal life in the paradise of heaven.

She is survived by her sister Florence Hiltner; three children; Jacqueline Colebrook (husband Terry), Darlene Potts (husband Joe), and Harry Krolus (wife Jan); 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
