Helen Humbird Offutt Johnson, 92, a resident of Severna Park since 1960 and formerly of Cumberland, died of pneumonia Nov. 25 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born June 8, 1912, in Oakland, the daughter of the late William R. and Mary Eleanor Humbird Offutt, Mrs. Johnson was educated in the Garrett County public school system and graduated from Penn Hall Academy in Chambersburg, Pa., with an associate's degree in commercial art.

She was a member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Cresap Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution.

On Aug. 12, 1939, she married William Howard Johnson, who died in 1990. Mr. Johnson was active in forestry and worked as superintendent of the Maryland State Park Service.

Surviving are two sons, William Offutt Johnson of Oakland and Lynn Johnson of Severna Park; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services and burial are private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
