Helen M. Ford, 91 years young of Revel Downs -devoted wife, mother and Fabric Artist died peacefully on Tuesday February 7, 2017.

Helen was born August 13, 1925 to Emma and Julian Scott in Washington, DC. Helen married Dexter H. Ford Sr on September 27, 1941, lived in Riverdale & Lanham Maryland and Ormond Beach Fl.   She was a homemaker and hairdresser and they had two children, Dexter, known as Joe—wife, Jeanne of Cape St Claire and Judy Taggart –husband, Jim, of Severn. Adding to her life's joys were 9 grandchildren, Michele, Scott, Tad, Glenn, Melynda, Danny, Jason, Matthew & Paul; 12 great-grandchildren, Brittney, Tiffany, Sydney, J D, Andrew, Kaitlyn,  Kiersten, Justin, Danny, Bryce, Natalie & Jaycee and 2 great-great- grandchildren, Gavin & the newest addition, Baby Tag and her faithful furry companion, Rocky.

Helen was always an accomplished sewer creating baby clothes and garment construction. When Helen moved back to Maryland from Florida in 1989 she took up quilting. Her second full size quilt was selected to be displayed at the Maryland State House in Annapolis. Her love of quilting extended to her active participation with the South County Quilters and the Eternal Quilters of Glen Burnie.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, February 12, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD.
