Helen Martha Bohmer passed away peacefully at her home in Arnold on January 12, 2023 at the age of 89. Helen was born July 12, 1933 in New York, NY to Gustav and Emma Hanke. She attended Morris High School in New York City. In 1957 she married her late husband of over 49 years, Thomas E. Bohmer.

Helen lived in Indiana, Connecticut, and Florida before making Maryland her permanent home with her late husband Thomas. A resident of Maryland for over 50 years, she retired from ARINC in Annapolis after working as a secretary for over 15 years. Helen was a caring and beloved member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church of Arnold, where she was an active member of the Hand Bell Ensemble. She volunteered for many various duties at Gloria Dei and was a member of the quilting group. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crocheting, and gardening. Helen was known for crocheting special homemade gifts for family and friends.

Helen is survived by her three children; Charlotte A. Ross of Huntingtown, MD, Thomas E. Bohmer III of Clemmons, NC, and Robert M. Bohmer of Annapolis, MD, 3 grandchildren, Kristy and Karen Ross, Nicholas Bohmer, and 1 great-grandchild, Smith Bohmer, and daughter-in-law Loretta Bohmer. Helen was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Donald B. Ross.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Tuesday January 17, 12 pm at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 461 College Pkwy, Arnold MD 21012.
