Harry F. Whitacre, age 78, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025.
Born on August 22, 1947, Harry lived a life dedicated to his family, his profession, and the things he loved most. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Toledo and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University. He practiced dentistry in Toledo and Sandusky, Ohio for many years, serving his patients with care, skill, and compassion.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Monica Whitacre, and his sister, Patricia Booth.
He is survived by his beloved daughters, Kris Morgenthaler (Greg) and Amy Whitacre (Jason Elcik); his cherished granddaughters Kelsey, Karlee, and Kamryn Morgenthaler, and Malia Elcik; Marty Whitacre, the mother of Kris and Amy, who remained a valued friend and important part of Harry's life. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
He will be remembered for his love of golf, running, reading, biking, and dining out — but above all, for the joy he found in spending time with his family.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in Toledo, Ohio to honor Harry's life.
