Harry Clayton Hardy Jr., 86, a lifelong resident of Severna Park, died Dec. 25.
Mr. Hardy was an alumnus of Severn School. He worked for his uncle at Dill Plumbing in Severna Park until his employment at Sears in Annapolis, where he stayed until his retirement.
He served in Coast Guard during WWII aboard the USS Cambria. He was also a volunteer firefighter at Earleigh Heights Fire Dept. for 70 years.
In retirement, he continued to help others with whatever needed to be fixed in their homes. He also volunteered at Woods Church with Meals on Wheels and the Blood Drive. He was a consummate waterman, sailor, fisherman and crabber.
He was preceded in death by his wife of almost 50 years, Geraldine "Jerry" Hardy.
Survivors include two daughters, Patricia "Trish" of St. Thomas, USVI and Barbara of Phoenix, Ariz.
A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Jan. 10 at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore-Annapolis Blvd in Severna Park; a reception will follow in Fellowship Hall at the church.
