Harriet Hunt White of Severna Park died peacefully on December 15, 2017. She was 86 years old. Harriet was born on March 25, 1931 in Baltimore to Henry B. Hunt, Sr. and Fannie Carr Chapman Hunt. Harriet grew up in Baltimore with her family and enjoyed spending time at her maternal grandfather's farm in Stanardsville, Virginia. After graduating from the University of Maryland at College Park with a degree in education she taught in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County. Harriet married Harold R. "Buzz" White in 1956. The Whites ultimately settled on Gibson Island where Harriet resided for forty years. She was instrumental to the operation of the family boatyard business as well as completely dedicated to her family and friends.

Harriet is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Cindi White of Severna Park and her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sarah White of Queenstown; her brother Henry B. Hunt, Jr. of Charleston, WV; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold R. "Buzz" White.

A memorial service is scheduled for 3:00pm on December 30, 2017 at St. Christopher by the sea, 511 Broadwater Way, Gibson Island, Maryland, 21056.
