In Memory of Papa

Harold Fairman, Jr., age 67, of Severna Park, passed away at 4:30 pm on April 2nd at Anne Arundel Medical Center after complications from lung cancer.

Born in Hempstead, Long Island, New York on February 28, 1942 to Grace J. Fairman and Harold Fairman, Sr., his family moved to Baltimore when he was six years old. He graduated from the University of Maryland where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Harold married Suzann Dorothy DeGhetto on July 17, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland. They spent forty four happy years together, raising their two boys, Harold Fairman III and Jason Robert Fairman.

Harold spent much of his free time in the outdoors with his family, enjoying many hours of hunting, fishing, and boating on the Chesapeake Bay. Since moving to Severna Park in 1980, he was very active in local sporting organizations, volunteering his time as a lacrosse coach and board member as well as voluntarily assisting with the Boy Scouts of America and recently, The Providence Center. He and Suzann spent many enjoyable hours with friends on the golf course and in the clubhouse as members of Chartwell Country Club.

After twenty five years, Harold retired from Mercer, Inc. as a Worldwide Partner, specializing in health and welfare issues, primarily in the aerospace and defense industries.

Harold is survived by his wife, Suzann, his two boys Trey and Jason, and five very active and loving grandchildren who call him "Papa." Fond memories of "Papa" will live on forever with all of us.
