Harold G. "Bud" Boyer, 79, son of Frank and Virginia Hurst Boyer, passed away on June 7, 2012 in his home in Severna Park, due to heart complications. Bud was born on April 19, 1933 and raised on the family farm in Millersville, now known as Boyer's Lane. He graduated in 1951 from Glen Burnie High School and enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War. Bud became a master electrician. He was the foreman in various prominent buildings in Baltimore, including the U.S.F.G. building. He was a real estate investor and maintained all the properties. He lived on the Severn River in the home he built since 1964. Bud enjoyed his work, but most importantly, he loved boating, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Elks and the Fleet Reserve.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Shirley Milhausen Boyer who passed away on April 05, 2012. He was one of 12 children and was also preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Norval, Eric, Donald, Benarr, Byran, and Horace.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Cynthia Boyer May and her husband Patrick L. May of Pasadena, and Connie Boyer Baldwin and her husband Charles B. Baldwin of Pasadena. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Chad B. Baldwin, Laurie M. Baldwin, Patrick A. May, and Jaclyn E. May. Other survivors include his brother, Charles Bryant Boyer of Delaware and three sisters, Katherine Carroll of Frederick, Carolyn Duncan of Greenville, SC, and Auda Boyer of Frederick.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 11:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 8249 Jumpers Hole Road, Millersville, MD 21108. Interment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, MD.
