Gordon Ueberroth

Gordon Francis "Butch" Ueberroth, 55, of Arnold, died of heart failure April 10 at his home after a brief illness.

Mr. Ueberroth was born in Baltimore on June 30, 1950, and was reared in Maryland, England and Colorado. He lived in Arnold for the past three years and was also a former 20-year resident of Annapolis. He graduated from the Severn School in 1968 and from the University of Baltimore in 1972 with a bachelor of science degree in business administration.

He retired after working 23 years with Annapolis Bank & Trust as assistant vice president and branch manager. He most recently worked at Borders at Westfield Annapolis Mall.

Mr. Ueberroth was commissioner of the Big 6 Sports Affiliate and a football enthusiast who enjoyed life with "kindness, loyalty and a wicked sense of humor," his family said.

Surviving are two sisters, Susan Ueberroth and Heather Dole-Ueberroth, both of Arnold.

He was the son of the late Frances Joan and Arthur George Ueberroth Jr. and the brother of the late Kenneth Mark Ueberroth and Arthur George "Sonny" Ueberroth III.

A memorial visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, with a gathering to follow at the family home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
