Gordon M. Roberts, Jr., 82, a longtime resident of Severna Park, passed away peacefully, January, 18, at home.


Born June 25, 1930 in Radford, Virginia, to Gordon M., Sr. and Willie Harvey Roberts, Gordon was raised in Radford. After attending the Greenbrier Military Academy and Virginia Polytechnic Institute, he spent four years in the United States Air Force.


Gordon married Mary Alice Powell on November 21, 1956.
Mr. Roberts founded Eagle Engineering Corporation along with his wife, son, and associates in 1987; he retired just last year. He was active in Search Ministries and was a member of the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He also served on the founding board of Star Community, Inc.


Gordon was known for his love of golden retrievers and was rarely seen without his cowboy boots and hat.


In addition to Mary Alice, his beloved wife of 56 years, he is survived by three children, Gordon McNeely, III (Carolyn) of Kingsville; Alice Adrian of Severna Park; William West of Hagerstown; three grandchildren, David, Steven, and Katie Roberts of Kingsville, as well as many nieces and nephews.


Friends may visit on Thursday January 24, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at the Barranco & Sons,P.A Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie Highway Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Friday January 25, 2013 at 11:00am in the Severna Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church 114 Ritchie Hwy Pasadena, MD 21122. Burial will be held on Sunday, January 27 at 1 p.m. at West View Cemetery, Fifth Street and Carter Street, Radford, Virginia 24141.
