Gordon Lee Jones, 90, of Severna Park died on October 14, 2011 at Howard County General Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1921 in Alps, Virginia. He was the son of the late Blanche and Meno Jones.
He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years. It was while he was stationed in Ludwigsburg, Germany that he met and married his beloved wife of 60 years Katharina.
Gordon was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife Katharina; one sister, Anne Johnson of Virginia; sons, Toni Gordon Jones of Laurel, Tom and Lori Jones of Fullerton, CA, George and Donna Jones of Chester, MD and Mike Jones of Severna Park; grandchildren, Jeanne McCray, G. Adam Jones and his wife Shanna, Tina Jones and husband Jeffrey, Brad Jones and fiancé Candace, Sean, Andrew, Stephanie and Becky Jones; and great grandchildren, Falon Williams, Claire Jones, and Alexandra Martin.
Family and friends may visit on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 from 2-4 pm & 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Hwy in Severna Park.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in MD Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.
