Glenn Warren Plonk, 88, passed away on March 18, 2026.

Glenn was born on April 7, 1937 to Zeb and Gale (neé Walraven) Plonk in New York. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and Wellesley, Massachusetts and graduated from Tufts University before his career brought him to the Washington D.C. area.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962, he was stationed mainly at the Pentagon as a Specialist 5th class. In 1963 Glenn married the love of his life, Ann Morrison Plonk. They decided to settle in Severna Park in 1970. He worked for many years as a Senior Executive at the National Security Agency (Dept. of Defense) before retirement. Glenn enjoyed gardening, genealogy, classic cars, and above all spending time with his family.

Glenn was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy McGlohn and his sister, Jane Sims.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann Morrison Plonk of Severna Park, MD; his daughter Susan Land of Arnold, MD; his son Steven Plonk, Phd. Of Atlanta, GA; his six grandchildren Emmie, Sarah, Nick, Joseph, Hayden, and Benjamin Plonk who he and Ann raised due to his daughter Wendy's illness; and one great grandchild.

He will be privately laid to rest at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s or the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
