Glenn Hall
Glenn Manning Hall, 75, a well-known banker and resident of Annapolis, died Feb. 16 of complications of Alzheimer's disease at Heritage Harbor Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Born April 12, 1930, in Calvert County, Mr. Hall was the son of the late Manning and Evelyn Hutchins Hall. He worked in the banking field for more than 30 years, first at Maryland National Bank and then Nations Bank, from which he retired in 1995.
After working for Dorsey Gray Ford dealership in Prince Frederick, he administered Maryland National branches in Calvert and Charles counties before coming to Annapolis in 1973 and managing the Church Circle branch. He subsequently moved to investment and business banking.
Mr. Hall was a graduate of Calvert County High School, Baltimore Business School and Virginia School of Banking, and briefly attended American University.
His family said he was known for his gregarious personality, friendly manner and infectious smile, which graced his involvement in numerous community organizations included the Methodist church, Masons, Rotary, trade council, the chamber of commerce and economic development groups.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Marian Dawson Hall; one daughter, Hope Hall Stinson of Arnold; two sons, Timothy Hall of Severna Park and Matthew Hall of Arnold; five grandchildren; two sisters. Jean Dowell of Owings and Betty Stifler of Oak Crest retirement community in Parkville; and one brother, Homer Hall of Owings.
His son, Todd Armstrong Hall, died in 1978.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, 300 W. Maple Road, Linthicum. Burial will be private. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
