Gisela Dibble

Dr. Gisela V. Dibble, 61, a college professor and resident of Annapolis, died of natural causes Feb. 22 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.

Dr. Dibble was born Aug. 18, 1944, and reared in Chemitz, Germany. A resident of Glen Burnie from 1967 to 1982, she earned an associate of arts degree from Anne Arundel Community College, a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore County and a doctoral degree from the University of Maryland College Park.

Dr. Dibble taught German at the Baltimore County and College Park campuses of the University of Maryland. She published numerous magazine articles and was working on a book about poets.

She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, gardening and cooking.

Also surviving are her husband, Jerry Dibble; one son, Terrance Robert Dibble; and her mother, Margaret Vorsprecher of Munich, Germany, She was the mother of the late Ilka Dibble.

Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be made to www.barrancofuneralhome.com .
