Gilbert Dailey
Gilbert A. Dailey Sr., 65, of Millersville, died of natural causes May 24 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born March 5, 1941, in Baltimore and reared in the Dorsey area of the county, Mr. Dailey worked as a concrete finisher for Gardner Homes.
He loved spending time with his family and playing and coaching baseball, basketball and high school football. He also enjoyed bowling in leagues.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah Dailey of Odenton; seven children, Gilbert Dailey Jr. of Calvert County, Derrick and Dearl Dailey and Sharon Dailey Galiday, all of Glen Burnie, Cheryl Dailey of Annapolis, and Katrina and Ashlynn Dailey, both of Odenton; two step-daughters, Eleanor Miles of Crofton and Charlene Miles of Severn; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; and five brothers.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, and from 11 a.m. to noon Tuesday at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 1440 Dorsey Road, Hanover, where services will be at noon. Burial will be in Meadowridge Memorial Park, 7250 Washington Blvd., Elkridge. Online condolences may be made at www.barrancofuneralhome.com.
