Gwyndell G. Chisolm, 72, of Annapolis, died of cancer May 18 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 9, 1932, in Cherokee, Ala., and raised in Rome, Ga., Mr. Chisolm served in the Army during the Korean War.
A resident of Severna Park for 27 years, he owned and operated Chisolm Contractors.
He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, cooking, traveling and spending time with his nine grandchildren.
His son, William Michael Chisolm, died in August 2004.
In addition to his grandchildren, he is survived by his wife, Marlene Rose Chisolm; two sons, Michael G. Chisolm of Severna Park and Gwyn Dale Chisolm of Edgewater; two brothers, Marvin Chisolm of Lindale, Ga., and Zacharia Chisolm of Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Nell Crites and Fran Boatner of Silver Creek, Ga.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, where services will be at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie. Memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA of Anne Arundel County, 1815 Bay Ridge Ave., Annapolis, MD 21403.
