Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Aunt. Gertrude (Laura) Fowler 96 years old died of natural causes January 23, 2019 at 7:03 PM. She was at home surrounded by her family at her side when she gave up the good fight. Laura was born May 3, 1922 in Lancaster County Virginia. She was one of nine children, both parents are deceased, their names were Lula and Mike Ercelino.

She was preceded in death by seven of her siblings, Mary Vanhusen, Helen Elrod, Irwin Stevens, Harry Stevens, Sarah (Dolly) McKnight, Thomas Stevens, and Mike Ercelino Jr. Her only living sibling is Fannie Clingan. She was also preceded in death by her son John Anthony Hoffman, and her grandson Gerald Keith Bunn. She is survived by her three children, Adam Hoffman Jr., Patricia Greenfield, Paula Mekins and a very special son in-law John Jernigan. She is also survived by two grandchildren; Richard Greenfield Jr. and his wife Nina, and Kevin Brown; five great grandchildren, Lindsay, Brad, Ashley, Derick, and Arizona; two great-great grandchildren, Carmen and Jaxson; and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Glen Burnie. She retired from The Social Security Administration and she was a very active member of the Lake Shore Senior Center.

Family and friends may visit on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Barranco & Sons, P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park, MD 21146. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. The burial will be private.
