Gertud Gersdorf, a retired Architect who specialized in hospital design, died peacefully on May 10, 2012. Gertrud was 87 and lived in Morningside House of Friendship in Hanover, MD. Gertrud was born in Berlin, Germany on November 28, 1924. She had many stories of Germany during World War II. She attended college in Germany and obtained her Architect Degree there. She worked at Landsberg Air Force Base in Bavaria, before coming to the United States. She lived and worked in New York City; Omaha, Nebraska; Washington DC; then moved to Severna Park, MD in the 1960's.
She loved boating, camping, gardening, and cooking. She spent much time in St. John, USVI.
She will be interred at Meadowridge Memorial Park next to her partner, Dr. Florence Blanck. A memorial service will be held at the Meadowridge Memorial Park on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 2:00 pm.
