Gerard Eugene "Gerry" Percoco was born on March 20, 1934 in Bronx, New York to Mary Rinaldi Percoco and Anthony Percoco. As a child Percoco relocated with his family to New Rochelle, New York. He attended Mount Saint Michael High School in the Bronx where he lettered in baseball, playing first base. Percoco attended Manhattan College in Riverdale, New York graduating in 1955 with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics. In 1956, Percoco earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Michigan.
After his marriage to Marilyn DiLieto of Mount Vernon, New York in 1956, Gerry began a long career with IBM, beginning as a salesman in their Trenton, New Jersey office, working through various positions and divisions in states from Maryland through Massachusetts with responsibilities on projects ranging from the Goddard Space Flight Center, where he met the original seven American astronauts, to being Director of Product Line Support for their Europe, Middle East, Asia group. During this tenure, Gerry was awarded numerous awards of excellence and achievement and was selected to attend the IBM International School in Blerikum, Netherlands. After his retirement from IBM in 1993, Gerry led the Chairman's National Capital Campaign for the United Way shuttling between IBM Corporate Headquarter in Armonk, New York and the United Way Headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia.
Outside of his career, Gerry was not one to sit still. Gerry was a life-long advocate of Sportsmanship; he officiated high school and youth football, basketball, and baseball in Westchester County, New York for many years. Also, heavily involved in church and after the reforms of Vatican II for the Roman Catholic Church, Gerry served every parish where he lived either as a lay lector, Eucharistic Minister, or member of the adult choir and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Upon retirement, Gerry picked up a part time endeavor of substitute teaching where he thoroughly enjoyed sharing his abundant knowledge.
Gerry is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marilyn, five children James (Gina) of Lorton, Virginia, Gerilyn Staley (Michael) of Landenberg, Pennsylvania, Stephen (Rose) of Middleton, Massachusetts, Marilyn Cleary (Chris) of Millersville, Maryland and Anthony (Rachael) of Rowley, Massachusetts. His son, Gregg (Darlene), of Black Mountain, North Carolina predeceased him in 2006. In addition to his 6 children, Gerry was honored to be Dad to his bonus son, Jaten. Also surviving Gerry are his 16 grandchildren: Jaten, Katelyn, Shaun, Morgan, Stephanie, Claire, Aaron, Joseph, Allie, Nicky, Grace, Catherine, Liam, Charlotte, Miles and Asa and five great-grandchildren: Micah, Lucy, Mia, Preston and Clara.
Gerry's family would like to acknowledge and thank the countless hours of wonderful and loving care given to Gerry by his caregivers: Chris Falter, Phyllis McGowan-Simms, Tiffany Jenkins, Ebony Jenkins and Norma Sabasa.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Barranco Severna Park Funeral Home & Cremation Care, P.A., 495 Ritchie Hwy, Severna Park, MD, 21146. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 12:00pm at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Ave. S, Millersville, MD, 21108. Interment is private.
