Geraldine C. (Gerry) Slipka, age 90 passed away
March 9, 2012 of natural causes at Future Care Chesapeake in
Arnold, MD. Geraldine was the daughter of the late Edward
and Christine Slipka and stepfather Harry Younger.
Geraldine was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 26, 1921.
She graduated from St. Andrew School of the Archdiocese of Baltimore
in 1935 and the Institute of Notre Dame in 1938. After graduation,
Geraldine worked for the Social Security Administration, she received
many job performance awards. Geraldine took an early retirement due
to her health. Survivors include her cousins Charles and Evelyn Merson,
Geraldine's caregivers and many other cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday
From 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Barranco & Sons P.A. Severna Park
Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway 21146. A Funeral Service will
be held on Tuesday 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be held
at the Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Baltimore. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew by the Bay Roman Catholic Church 701 College Parkway, Annapolis, Maryland 21409 or to
St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway,
