Geraldine (Jerry) Mae Burton, 80, of Pasadena, Maryland passed away on August 1, 2023. Jerry was born on February 9, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland.

She retired from Anne Arundel County Public Schools after serving 30 years as a food service manager. Jerry was a devoted member of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. Joining on her 16th birthday, she selflessly served an awe inspiring 64 years and was the longest standing member of the auxiliary. She held many officer roles with the Ladies Auxiliary both at the Company and the County levels. Jerry was a dedicated and active member up to the time of her death, most recently working the annual carnival. Earleigh Heights was her second family. She met and fell in love with her JB, her future husband of over 40 years, at the fire house. As their family expanded, members of the family were inspired by her unwavering commitment and joined the Fire Service as well. Her legacy of service will continue on through her family and the members of the Earleigh Heights Volunteer Fire Company.

Jerry loved bingo, traveling, and most of all her seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She spent her free time during the summers in Dagsboro at her beloved trailer.

Surviving are her two sons William E. Burton III (Kathy) of Edgewater, MD and Kenneth Burton (Kimberly) of Severna Park, MD; one daughter Gail Winkelmyer (Eric) of Denton, MD; one brother Frederick Albert Zoeller of Crossville, TN; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Preceding is her beloved husband William E. Burton Jr.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm on Thursday August 10, 2023 at Barranco Funeral Home Severna Park, 495 Ritchie Hwy., where funeral services will be held at 10am Friday. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie.
