Gerald Ernest Matthews of Arnold passed away on September 29, 2016 at the age of 76. He was a beloved husband of 54 years to Rita S. Matthews, loving father to Lisa Hansen (Roger) and Gregory Matthews (Sharon). Cherished grandfather to Lauren, Lucas and Morgan Matthews and Matthew and Katherine Hansen.

Also survived by dear sister Lesley and brother-in-law Eugene Bathurst. Predeceased by parents Katherine and Ernest Matthews and sister, Marion Oliver.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday October 4, 2016 from 4-7:00pm at the Barranco & Sons,P.A. Severna Park Funeral Home 495 Ritchie hwy Severna Park, MD 21146. Services will be held on Wednesday October 5, 2016 at 11am in the funeral home chapel. Interment in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
