Gerald Brian Brandon, 83, of Severna Park and a wintertime resident of Naples, Fla., died of congestive heart failure Sept. 18 at home after a six-month illness.
Mr. Brandon was born Dec. 15, 1922, in Baltimore, where he was reared and attended McDonogh, which was then a boys' semi-military high school in Baltimore County. He graduated from Loyola College of Maryland in 1949 after serving in the Navy in World War II.
A retired Realtor, he was the owner and operator of Olde Colony Real Estate and Brandon Development. He was instrumental in the development of the Chartwell Community in Severna Park, where he was one of the founders of the Chartwell Golf and Country Club and served as its president two times.
He was also a member of the St. George's Society and the English Speaking Union. His interests included golf.
Surviving are his wife, Rita Blair Brandon, whom he married Jan. 28, 1956; and one sister, Virginia Sills of Baltimore.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway, Severna Park. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Baltimore.
