Gerald W. Anderson, 71, a resident of Glen Burnie since 1957, died of stroke complications May 6 at North Arundel Hospital after a brief illness.
Born July 10, 1932, and reared in Manistique, Mich., Mr. Anderson joined the Navy in 1952 and served during the Korean War.
He retired in September 1996 from Joseph Seagrams Co., where he worked in the bottling department.
An avid sports fan, he was a basketball coach for several years.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia D. Anderson, whom he married in 1955; one son, Michael N. Anderson of Annapolis; one daughter, Lori M. Anderson of Glen Burnie; and one sister, Mary K. Miskelly of Ellicott City.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be offered at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7436 Baltimore and Annapolis Blvd., Glen Burnie. Burial will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville.
