George Stewart passed away on August 24th, 2022 at the age of 86, just shy of his 87th birthday in Severna Park, MD. His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, family, and friends.
George was born on September 24, 1935 in Liverpool, England to Annie and Joseph Stewart. George first moved to America at the age of 21 to join his brother Fred and sister Jean. Upon arriving in America, George served his country in the United States Navy for over 23 years as a Chief Petty Officer First Class Machinist.
George married the love of his life, Mena (Binmuda) in 1978. Which in George's words, was the best thing that ever happened to him.
Upon his retirement from the reserves, George and Mena lived in Texas for five years before moving to Maryland. George worked at the Naval Academy in Annapolis as a machinist for over 20 years.
George was known for his sense of humor and his ability to eat everything! He always had stories to share about his life and all the adventures that he got himself into. George enjoyed spending time with his wife, dancing, sharing shrimp with his four-legged pal, fishing, and watching English football, especially his home team Liverpool. He loved tinkering with everything including cars, if he couldn't fix it, then it was broken.
George is survived by his wife, Mena Stewart, his brother Fred Stewart and sister Jean Neely, brother-in-law Ray Binmuda, as well as many nieces and nephews. His bonus daughter and son, Gina and Todd Degreenia as well as his bonus grandkids Alyssa (Sammy), Joseph, David, and great-grandaughter Lila.
