George Frederick Rehorn Jr.

Born - January 7, 1941
Died - July 26, 2015

George was born in Franklin Square, on Long Island, New York to George & Adeline (née Remert) Rehorn on January 7, 1941. He attended Elementary & Middle School on the Long Island. During those years he patiently waited for summertime when Mom, Dad & George packed up to spend 2 weeks on a farm in up state Pennsylvania where he would work with the owner herding cows, pitching hay, collecting eggs & mastering the rural life. The memories of this time stayed with him and set the foundation of a Gentle Giant.

Starting Sewanhaka High School would lead to a long career in Lacrosse and the forming friendships that have lasted over 50 years. Thru High School and College George developed a winning history in both football and lacrosse. Upon finishing High School George attended Rutgers University College, later transferring to University of Maryland where a successful career in sports and a degree in business led to positions with Princeton University & Potomac Electric.

In 1969 George accepted a position with the Anne Arundel County Board of Education. This led to his future adventures with Kathleen (née Schmidt, McCartney) who became his wife in 1974.
Along with a wife he accrued four wonderful children (Joseph, Kathleen, Maureen, and Celeste). Becoming an instant Father figure, became a challenge he met with Grace and Love. This union has grown to 5 grandchildren Erin, Brian, Megan, Michael & John, added spouses, Kristen, Timothy, Michelle, & Great grandchildren Ashlyn, Brayden, Isaac, Landon, Nathan & Brandon.
George proved to be a loving master coach of this Rollicking Team!

It was at this time George's Career in youth Lacrosse began. With committed friendship and combined talents, he and Dr. Louis Ruland Jr. led a Champion Lacrosse Team to a winning record and an invitation to take there well coached team ranging 11 to 17 years of age to England. This exchange is still on going and has branched to soccer.

With his combined career as Human Resource Specialist, and Retirement Counselor, an unending list of Good Works and Devotion to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, George is a perfect example of a Good Father, Friend and Husband who is an Inspiration to all who knew him.

The family would like to thank all for the love and encouragement shown to George.
This is especially directed to Chris Agu, who's Devotion only ended in letting go of George's hand to Give Him to God!

We Love You Big Guy!!!
