George Dewey Lohrig Jr., 76, of Severna Park, died of emphysema April 26 at home.
Born Aug. 27, 1928, in Baltimore, Mr. Lohrig was reared in Ilchester and was a former resident of Parkville. He was the owner of Kelly's Deli and Butcher Shop on Joppa Road in Baltimore.
An avid Ravens fan, he also enjoyed jet skiing, playing poker, walking his dog, reading and spending time on Dobbins Island on the Magothy River.
He was the father of the late George Dewey Lohrig III and brother of the late Mary Jane Meizer.
Surviving are two daughters, Susan Morrissey of Severna Park and Kelly Lohrig of Towson; one son, Michael Lohrig of California; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, 495 Ritchie Highway. A funeral Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 689 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park. Burial is private.
