George Kassatly—a devoted father, proud veteran, and accomplished chemist and engineer—passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026, at the remarkable age of 98.

Born in 1928 and raised in Brooklyn, New York, George was defined from a young age by his sharp intellect and a profound sense of duty. Immediately after graduating from Boys High School, he enlisted in the United States Army, honorably serving his country while stationed in Japan at the conclusion of World War II. Upon returning home, he utilized the GI Bill to further his education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Wagner College.

George went on to forge a distinguished international career. As a gifted chemist and engineer, his brilliance and dedication left a lasting global impact through his significant contributions at Boeing, Atlantic International, and the Ralph M. Parsons Company.

In 1958, George married the love of his life, Christa (Weymann). Together, they built a beautiful life anchored by laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion, sharing over five decades of deep partnership until her passing on April 1, 2014.

Beyond his professional achievements, George was a man of diverse and rich passions. He was an insatiable reader, a skilled sailor who found profound peace on the open water, and an avid traveler who cherished exploring the world alongside his beloved wife.

Above all, George was a steadfast and foundational rock for his family. He is survived by his three loving daughters: Claudia Lusby and her husband, Kevin; Lorice Frost and her late husband, Clifford; and Georgina Pinckney and her husband, Douglas. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish his wisdom, warmth, and the indelible legacy of his life.

In keeping with George's wishes, services will be private and under the care of his family.
